PSPB Employee Excels

Nineteen-year old Maria Dixon is the second recipient of the Public Service Pensions Board (PSPB) Director’s Annual Employee Recognition Award.

Chosen for her exceptional work ethic, PSBS Director Jewel Evans-Lindsey says of Maria, “This young lady focuses on the task at hand, and completes her work irrespective of what is happening around her. Despite a challenging year, Maria kept on going without complaint.” She continues, “All employees are graded on criteria including customer service, attitude, teamwork and commitment. Although we have many hard-working employees, Maria scored highest across the board. It is to her credit that she is such a dedicated employee at such a young age.”

Maria is the youngest member of the PSPB team, where she started as a summer intern during her final year of school. After graduation, she returned to join the staff full-time as a clerical officer. She has since been promoted to Accounting Assistant. With the assistance of PSPB, Maria plans to receive further qualifications in Accounting and to that end will start at the Cayman Islands Community College this September.

Of her award, Maria says, “I was extremely surprised and very happy to be chosen. It makes me want to work even harder in the future.”
